5/2/2022 Academic Affairs Weekly Student Update     

     

Hello Cambridge College Students,

This is the final week of classes for most students. Next week, classes for summer session 1 begin at CC-Global. The summer session for all other classes begins on June 6th. Keep up your momentum by registering for the summer term! If you have not yet registered for summer classes, be sure to do so soon (see the video linked here>>).

Community Time

Wednesday, May 4, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. (EST) via Zoom. Click here to register >>.

'Community Time' is a monthly event and an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to spend an hour together to share their experiences and build a stronger CC community. Each 'Community Time' event will have a topic for discussion and provide an opportunity to share your story, as well as connect with peers and colleagues in a safe space. May discussion topics include: Plans for the summer; Reflect on the Spring semester experience (challenges and victories); Career discussion (career plans and barriers in securing a dream job).

Introduction to the Cambridge College Online Library

Cambridge College Librarian Jeff Cronin will be offering a webinar on the new Cambridge College Online Library and how it can help you. We will briefly introduce our library resources and services, including reference 24/7 and APA guides for citing sources. There will also be an opportunity for questions. Canvas Training for Students – May 2022

Beginning in the summer 2022 term, all courses will be using Canvas as the Learning Management System. Each training session will show students the Canvas course settings, notifications, inbox communications, conducting coursework such as uploading assignments, taking a quiz, participating in discussion forums, and utilizing Canvas help resources. We encourage all students to register for one of the Canvas training sessions below:

English Conversation Group 

Our English Conversation Group is designed to help English language learners practice conversational skills in a safe and structured environment. English Conversation Groups meet virtually via Zoom every Monday and Thursday (except federal holidays). There is no charge to attend, but registration is required.
